« The Oncopole – a new model of university hospital campus - speaks for itself. It brings together, in one place, all the different regional players – healthcare professionals, researchers, academics and entrepreneurs - involved in the fight against cancer. The Oncopole has just one aim – to treat cancer whilst encouraging innovation through medical research.
At the university of which I am honoured to be president, our aim is to show that working in synergy, on one campus, with all the different partners of one project, is a key success factor for realising the ambitions of the Oncopole. Indeed, I believe that it is this form of interaction - which can be reproduced elsewhere and in other fields, between researchers, research institutes, businesses and students - that we must strive to promote. »
